2-6-4T No.4 Meenglas at Lough Eske at about 8.20pm whilst working the 8.4pm Q (when required) from Donegal to Stranorlar. The normal 2.40.pm goods from Strabane to Stranorlar had been extended to Donegal on this evening (as shown “as required”in the WTT) with 6 vans for Donegal and the brake coach. The train returned from Donegal at 8.6pm and called at Lough Eske for a tea break, though not booked to do so. The loop at Lough Eske wasn’t opposite the platform, but was on the curve at the Stranorlarend of the station. The leading coach in the train (No.12) was brought from Donegal as it was needed on the 10.25am Ancient Order of Hibernians special the following day, from Stranorlar to Killybegs. Goods van No.7 and two-compartment brake second No.28 complete this train
